Accomodation:
Our Taikai venue is located in the heart of Dublin City, and hotels in the immediate vicinity can be pricey. However there are lots of ways to keep costs to a minimum. Here are some examples of accommodation, with prices correct as of April 2025
Option One: HOSTELS
If you’re just looking for a bed and aren’t worried about sharing with others, there are several hostels located within a 10 minute walk of the training venue.
One example is The Dawson Hostel, quoting €99 for three nights in shared dormitory for the weekend of the event. This is located around 1.5km from the venue, but Booking.com has examples of similar deals elsewhere.
Option Two: APARTHOTELS
Staycity has several apart-hotels around the city centre that are all within walking distance of the venue and that can accommodate small groups of up to six or seven people, as well as groups of two, three etc. For example a group of four people booking an apartment here for the weekend of our event will pay around €110 per night per person for a three night stay.
You can see the full list of their venues in Dublin here, and all of them are within easy walking distance of Trinity:

Option Three: AIRBNB
At the time of writing, there are three or four apartments close to the training venue listed on AirBnB, with prices averaging about €125 per person per night for four people sharing, but it’s important to note that our Taikai venue (The Trinity College Sports Centre) is located beside Pearse Station, a major train station served by the main city train line in Dublin, called the Dart.
This line serves lots of different areas north and south of the city centre, so if you are doing a search on hotels, B&Bs or an AirBnB, for example, you can put in access to that line as one of your filters. Similarly, a large number of bus routes either pass directly by the venue, or are within a few minute’s walk.
One example is this place in Blackrock, quoting about €65 per person per night for four people sharing. It’s located a three minute walk from a Dart train station, and about a 25 minute train ride from the training venue.
Finding accommodation on the main train line, or via a bus route, can seriously cut down the expenses of attending this event. The Transport for Ireland website, transportforireland.ie, has maps etc, but feel free also to drop us a quick line if you’d like to check whether the place you are considering is well located for getting to the venue or not.
The good thing about Dublin is that unlike, say, London or New York, it’s a small city that’s pretty easy to get around. So there’s an option for everyone.
Option Four: HOTELS
Staying close to the venue in a hotel will cost a bit more than the other options, but there are still good deals to be had on booking.com. There are plenty of four and five star hotels in the vicinity of the venue but this example of a room for one person in a three star Travelodge located 350 metres from the venue, costing €130 per person per night for a two person room, is a good deal.
Even closer to the venue at just 50 metres away, a room at The Lombard Pub and Townhouse costs €90 per person per night for two people sharing. A bit further down Pearse Street, The Maldron Hotel is charging €131 per person per night for a shared room.
The bottom line is that there are loads of ways for people to find accommodation for this event, that’s the beauty of locating it in the heart of the tourist district of Dublin city.
